Our Mission, Vision & Philosophy
Mission Statement
“Partnering to develop your child’s God-given potential.”
Vision Statement
- Children leave The Potter’s House CDC with a joyful love of learning, prepared for success in school and life.
- Parents experience the value of partnering with teachers and are committed to continued partnerships throughout their child’s development years.
Philosophy
- Positive interactions and relationships with adults provide a critical foundation for successful learning.
- Social/emotional competence is a significant factor in school success.
- Constructive, purposeful play supports essential learning.
- The physical environment affects the type and quality of learning interactions.
- The teacher-family partnership promotes development and learning.
- Spiritually, The Potter’s House believes that all children are created by God with innate gifts and strengths, that there is a plan and purpose for each life, and that children are born ready to learn.
Play is children’s work! Teachers who create the framework for play, with intentional, responsive support to achieve learning goals, will fulfill an important role in the development of each child’s God-given potential. To effectively support children’s growth, all five areas (physical, emotional, social, cognitive, spiritual) of the whole child must be considered on a daily basis as teachers prepare for learning. Our curriculum provides a wealth of learning activities and objectives that meet all the State of Ohio Early Learning Development Standards, and our Bible program provides a firm scriptural foundation for children as they learn to trust, love, and serve God.
